What is Women in Industry Day?
Women in Industry began in 2019 through the leadership and vision of the Lowcountry Society of Women Engineers. Now in its sixth year, this dynamic conference is designed to connect professionals from industries across the Lowcountry.
Inspiring keynote speakers, engaging breakout sessions, and networking provide professionals an opportunity to learn and connect with their peers.

WIID History
2019
The Lowcountry Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) hosted the first Women in Industry Day on March 8, 2019. The inaugural event brought close to 250 female professionals from across the Charleston area together for an inspiring day. We could not have thought of a better way to celebrate International Women's Day 2019!

2020
The second Women in Industry Day conference was originally scheduled to return to The Citadel in Spring 2020, but the global pandemic made an in-person conference no longer possible. Luckily, the WIID planning committee switched to a completely virtual conference, providing an engaging full-day conference inspired by the theme, Share your vision.
2021
After evaluating the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, year three of the conference was also held virtually. The choice to continue with a virtual experience allowed the conference to be freely available to all women, both in the Lowcountry and beyond. With the theme “Facing Forward”, an inspiring half day of virtual conferences was held June 18, 2021 along with a live social October 20th at the container bar.
2022
After two years of virtual conferences, we were able to return to an in-person event for the fourth year of Women in Industry Day. The theme of "Engage and Empower" guided participants throughout a day of networking, inspiring breakout sessions, and an all-new 'Man-el'.
2023
The fifth year of Women in Industry Day took place on April 21, 2023 at Trident Technical College in North Charleston, SC. The theme was: Brave.Powerful.Heard. This was the first year the conference sold out! We look forward to its continued growth and development.
